Pasco invite.  2 mile warmup, 2 mile cooldown.  Ran the Elite mile. Was prepared to go out fast but was shocked when the race went out so slow (68 first lap). Horrible start and boxed in for about half the race, pack was tight.  Made a major move on the third lap to improve my position (62 for that lap).  Had way too much left at the end but closed to slow (64 last lap). Made many mistakes but showed that I can do big things the rest of this season. Frustrating race but it was a good experience, probably my first ever true tactical race. Need to be prepared for anything.  Championship races later this season could be very similar to this race. 4:20.02 final time converts to around 4:18 1600m (6 second PR).  Pain in right low shin has been getting worse the past 2-3 weeks but has been present for months.  Felt it during my warmup and cooldown but did not feel it during the race. The pain was worse during my warmup than it was during my cooldown.  Don't think it is anything serious but I will take the next two days off just to play it safe as I transition into the bigger meets.

Resting after the Pasco Invite yesterday.  Mild pain behind the lower portion of my right shin.  I've had this pain for months but it's gotten a little worse in the last 2-3 weeks so I'm going to play it safe by taking a couple of days off.  Constantly icing and taking 2 Aleve's per day (one morning, one night) until leg starts feeling better.  I raced yesterday with no pain during the race, just mild pain during my warmup and cooldown, I am not worried but I want to be careful! Pain was worse during my warmup yesterday than it was during my cooldown

Today was my second day off for the mild pain in my right leg.  Timed intervals for coach at practice.  Tried jogging around while timing.  Let felt pretty good but got mild pain the first step of every jog.  Plan on running and seeing doctor tomorrow to play it safe but I'm sure everything is fine

Finally back running.  Pain in right leg wasn't very noticable.  Ran on the Duvall trail for soft sufaces.  Form felt slightly awkward from not running for two days.  Ran relatively slow (7:05/mi).  Iced after run, area behind tibia that has been painful is very tender.  Ankle feels weak and tendons around ankle are sore.

Also, I saw the doctor before my run and he said that I should be fine and it is most likely not a stress fracture.  Just need to listen to my body (and pray of course).

Not a great workout.  The scheduled workout was 2 x (1000, 600, 400). Fortunately I made it through the entire workout but the splits were ugly. 1000 = 2:52, 600 = 1:41, 400 = 1:06, 1000 = 2:58, 600 = 1:44, 400 = 1:08. Windy on track, soccer team put junk in the middle of the track that I had to run around.

Felt mild pain in my lower right leg still, hard for me to compare the pain to previous days.  Feeling a lot of tightness in my achilles, had some yesterday but more so today.  Tightness was worse in the morning but I loosened up throughout the day.  Need to work on my focus during these interval workouts, today I got frustrated after the first 1000 and lost alot of focus during the remainder of the workout.  Just gotta bounce back and get better and work on recovering from these minor aches and pains.

Really felt the pain in my right leg today.  It was a mistake to attempt that speed workout yesterday.  Ran easy on gravel trail at 7:00/mi.  Could have made it through the entire run but wouldn't have been doing myself any good so I stopped early and walked back.  Achilles tightness and pain around lower ankle has worsened.  Feel most of the pain when I push off behind lower tibia (don't think it's a stress fracture although I probably shouldn't rule anything out).  Plan on taking 3-4 days off.  Really bummed because training and racing had been going so well up until around 3 weeks ago when this thing flared up.  Now I just need to stay positive and push on through and trust that everything will be ok.  The worst thing I can do is get super frustrated over this whole thing and let it control me.  Gotta keep praying!!  Things will get better and God willing I'll be chrushin' it during the chamionship races when it really matters.

Right leg felt horrible when I woke up.  Lots of pain and tightness around achilles and lower ankle just walking around.   Yesterday the pain decreased quite a bit throughout the day but today the pain stayed about the sam the entire day.

After school I hit the gym to get some cross training in.  Did the Rolling Hills "workout" on the eliptical for an hour.  Definitely not the same as running but I need to keep my body moving to maintain whatever fitness I can.  I'll likely do a tougher cross training workout tomorrow.

Very bummed because I was in the shape of my life before this injury and I was expecting some huge things.  Need to keep my help up, maintain a positive attitude and stay focused on my goals.  If I have a quick revovery from this injury, that's great and I will still do some GREAT things this season, but if not I need to focus on getting an incredible summer of training once I recover and I am confident I can do amazing things in cross country this fall!

Stayin' tough!

Leg feeling better today but still far from perfect.  Did some more cross training at the gym.  Stationary bike for 30 minutes, eliptical for another 30 minutes.  Trying to maintain as much fitness as possible without running and of course keeping a positive attitude.

Feeling better everyday! Earlier this week I learned that it's important that I don't start running until the pain is gone completely so I'm being bery careful and I will continue to listen to my body.

Still pushin' through!  Leg not feeling much better today but I have still had some drastic overall improvement over the past couple days.  "Workout" today was similar to yesterday's.  1/2 hr bike, 1/2 hr eliptical.  After doing a little research I think I have posterior tibial tendonitis.  I have been stretching, rolling out, and attempting any strength/activation exercises I can without pain.

Good day.  It was beautiful outside and I was bummed that I couldn't run but I am working hard towards my recovery!  Did 2000m on the rowing machine which took around 9 minutes.  I then did some mild upper-body weights followed by 20 mitutes on the eliptical.

My ankle felt better today than yesterday but the pain behind my shin was a little worse.  I wore Nike Free's to school today so that may have something to do with the increased shin pain but who knows.  I plan on trying a run in the next coupld days so I am excited to see how I feel.  Hopefully my leg will continue to improve.  Stayin' tough!
