I have not logged anything for a good long while. Here's what went down while I was gone... I found out the pain in my leg I described in my entries in April was not posterior tibial tendinitis, after getting a bone scan I was told that I had a stress fracture in my lower tibia. This was a shock to me because I had been trying to convince myself this was not a stress fracture for weeks. During my time off I tried to find new ways to maintain fitness so I started swimming 4 times a week and did 1 hr palates sessions 3 times a week. The last few days I ran around a half hour on an Alter-G treadmill at a local physical therapy center to test the waters and when everthing was feeling great I decided today was the day and I went out on my first run.
Had a 1 hour palates session before my run today. I feel like I'm getting stronger with every session.
I ran 1 mile today (all of it on soft surfaces). This may not be much but it's a great starting point and I know I'm heading in the right direction. I actually felt better running today than I usually do after coming back from time off (probably a combonation of the Alter-G, swimming and palates). So thankful I was able to get this run in and I pray I stay healthy and have no surprises as a contnue my buildup!
