I have not logged anything for a good long while.  Here's what went down while I was gone... I found out the pain in my leg I described in my entries in April was not posterior tibial tendinitis, after getting a bone scan I was told that I had a stress fracture in my lower tibia. This was a shock to me because I had been trying to convince myself this was not a stress fracture for weeks.  During my time off I tried to find new ways to maintain fitness so I started swimming 4 times a week and did 1 hr palates sessions 3 times a week.  The last few days I ran around a half hour on an Alter-G treadmill at a local physical therapy center to test the waters and when everthing was feeling great I decided today was the day and I went out on my first run.

Had a 1 hour palates session before my run today.  I feel like I'm getting stronger with every session.

I ran 1 mile today (all of it on soft surfaces).  This may not be much but it's a great starting point and I know I'm heading in the right direction.  I actually felt better running today than I usually do after coming back from time off (probably a combonation of the Alter-G, swimming and palates).  So thankful I was able to get this run in and I pray I stay healthy and have no surprises as a contnue my buildup!

Ran 2 easy miles on the trail. Felt smoother than I did yesterday. Just getting past the minor aches and pains from not running in so long but it feels good to be getting back.

Visiting Furman to sign up for classes. Ran two easy miles on the swamp rabbit trail. It was around 95 degrees and very humid. Coming back very very slow and paying attention to my body. I'm so excited to be getting back into training and I can't wait to be on campus at Furman this fall training with such a spectacular team!

Took a day off. Need to be very careful. Everything is feeling great I just don't want to take any chances. Spent the day on campus meeting some of my classmates. I love the people here and cannot wait to call this place my home

Another great easy run. Ran three miles on soft surfaces. My form is still feeling a little sloppy from not running but everything is getting better everyday and I feel no pain. Playing it very safe and I'm super paranoid, I constantly feel like something's hurting or not feeling right but I'll get past this in the next week or so.

1 hour of palates before run.

Continuing the build up. Had a one hour palates session today and got a GREAT ab workout, I'm going to be sore tomorrow. Following the palates session I ran a slow six miles wth my dad. Everything's feeling great and hopefully I will continue to feel better everyday.

Ran shorter today (4 1/2 miles).  I don't want to increase too fast.  Today's pace was a little faster than the past few days, though it was very hot out and I've been suffering from really bad allergies.  Other than the heat and the allergies I felt pretty good.
